Provincial Water Licenses and Indigenous Communities in British Columbia

The FOI documents provide a clear picture of the guidance to Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy (MOE), Ministry of Forest, Lands Natural Resource Operations & Rural Development (FLNRO), Oil and Gas Commission (OGC), and Front Counter BC (FCBC) on the referrals process for water. This information could be very useful for First Nation Communities, First Nation Organizations, Non-Profit Organizations, and their consultants. Indigenous communities concerned about their water rights will be interested in this document because there are several avenues they can use to influence water authorizations and approvals.
